Jama’atu Nasril Islam Demands Probe and Justice Following Tragic Drone Attack in Kaduna
The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has issued a compelling call for a comprehensive investigation into the recent drone attack incident at Tudun Biri village in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The tragic event occurred when Nigerian Army troops mistakenly targeted villagers participating in the Maulud celebration on Sunday.
In a statement delivered by Prof Khalid Aliyu, the Secretary General of JNI, the group expressed profound consternation and grief over the incident, extending heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased victims.
The unfortunate bombing, resulting in the reported loss of at least 100 innocent lives, has been unequivocally denounced by JNI as a reprehensible act contrary to the principles of peace and unity.
The Secretary General expressed disbelief at the military’s involvement in such a devastating incident, highlighting the need for a thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation.
The group is urging the authorities to ensure accountability in accordance with existing laws.
JNI firmly condemns the tragic occurrence and insists on a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event, emphasizing the importance of military-civil relations.
Prof Khalid Aliyu further called on the Federal Government and its relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to promptly address the medical needs of the affected victims and provide due compensation to the families of the deceased.
The Secretary General noted that similar incidents have transpired in Yobe, Zamfara, Borno, and other locations, underscoring the urgency of preventive measures.
In the spirit of empathy and faith, JNI implores God’s infinite mercy upon the departed souls, seeking peaceful repose in Jannatul-Firdaus, and beseeches Him to grant patience and solace to the bereaved families.
The group also encourages steadfast prayers, solidarity, and a commitment to peace, justice, and harmony within communities.
Reiterating their dedication to pursuing justice and preventing the recurrence of such heartbreaking incidents, the Secretary General urged everyone to exercise restraint and patience while awaiting the outcome of the investigations.
