Tinubu, Obasanjo, Abiodun celebrate Adegunwa

President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, hailed Asiwaju Sulaiman Adegunwa as a remarkable figure deserving emulation for his dedication to African development. Adegunwa, acclaimed for his humility despite substantial contributions to business and job creation, was installed as the Asiwaju of Ijebuland alongside his wife, Hajia Fatima, as the Yeye Asiwaju Arobake of Ijebuland. Governor Dapo Abiodun praised Adegunwa’s journey from a photographer to a prominent business leader and philanthropist, highlighting his role as a source of inspiration. The Awujale of Ijebuland, represented by Dr. Sunny Kuku, emphasized Adegunwa’s and his wife’s significant contributions to the socio-economic growth of Ijebuland and Nigeria, earning them the esteemed titles.

In response, Asiwaju Adegunwa expressed gratitude for the honor, pledging continued commitment to societal service and economic development in Ijebuland and Nigeria. The title of Asiwaju of Ijebuland, previously held by notable figures like Chief Samuel Sonibare and Prof Adebayo Adedeji, reflects a tradition of honoring distinguished individuals for their contributions to society.
