The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), led by President-General Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, emphasized the urgency for positive changes to restore hope among citizens during the fifth anniversary celebration of the 17th Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage-Mohammed (retd), in Lafia. Sultan Abubakar stressed the importance of prioritizing national unity and discouraged the idea of secession as a solution to the nation’s insecurity challenges. He urged Nigerians to pray for the success of their leaders and called for swift action from officials to address economic and security concerns.

The Sultan highlighted the significance of unity demonstrated by traditional rulers across the country at the event and encouraged other Nigerians to follow suit. He emphasized the unity among royal fathers as a testament to national cohesion and solidarity.

Additionally, Shehu of Borno, Ibn Umar-Garbai, appealed to Nigerians to provide credible information about criminal activities, including Boko Haram insurgency, banditry, and kidnapping, to security agencies. He underscored the importance of collaboration between communities and security agencies in combating crime and maintaining peace and stability.

Notable dignitaries present at the event included former governors of Nasarawa State, Senators Abdullahi Adamu and Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, as well as traditional rulers such as the Sultan of Sokoto, Shehu of Borno, Oni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, Aku Uka of Ukari, Emir of Kano, Sarkin Bauchi, Emir of Zauzau, Edu Nupe, and Lamidu of Adamawa, among others.
