North Central APC Forum Urges Plateau Governor to Defect to APC for Accelerate State Progress

The North Central APC Forum in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, has advised Governor Caleb Mutfwang to consider defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in order to enhance his impact and value in the state. The recommendation was made during the forum’s first quarter meeting, where the party’s state of affairs in the region, as well as economic and security issues, were discussed.

Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, the Chairman of the APC Forum and a member of the Presidential Campaign Council in the last election, praised Governor Mutfwang for his inclusive approach to governance and his efforts to promote peace and security in Plateau State. However, he suggested that for the governor to achieve his agenda more effectively, he should consider joining the APC.

Zazzaga emphasized that Governor Mutfwang’s defection to the APC would not diminish the importance of his former party but would instead strengthen his ability to develop Plateau State. He cited the example of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, who has utilized different platforms and parties to advance development in his region.

The Chairman highlighted that Governor Mutfwang’s alignment with the APC would align him with President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s vision for Plateau State and the North Central region. He also noted that most legislators from the state are in the APC, which would facilitate better collaboration between the executive and legislative arms for progress.

Zazzaga acknowledged Governor Mutfwang’s sportsmanship and magnanimity in victory after the Supreme Court upheld his election but urged him to extend his hand to his former contenders, particularly Nentawe Yilwatda of the APC and Dr Patrick Dakum of the Labour Party, to work together for the state’s development.

He also advised the governor to seek guidance from experienced leaders in the state, including former governors and senators like Joshua Dariye, Jonah Jang, Jeremiah Useni, and Simon Lalong, to navigate the state’s developmental challenges effectively.

Zazzaga called on all APC leaders, members, and supporters to support Governor Mutfwang as he implements policies to uplift Plateau State and deliver democracy’s dividends to the people.
