The Presidency has officially addressed the recent speculations regarding a potential cabinet reshuffle by President Bola Tinubu, particularly focusing on the removal of five ministers from their positions.

Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, spoke on the matter during an interview with the National Television Authority on Sunday. He dismissed the reports as mere speculation and emphasized the importance of not preempting the President’s decisions.

Ngelale highlighted that President Tinubu, being well-informed about his administration, has a dedicated adviser, Hadiza Bala Usman, responsible for policy and coordination. He clarified that any reshuffling of the cabinet would depend on the outcomes of ongoing investigations into alleged fraud within the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, as well as its Social Investment Programmes.

According to Ngelale, the President has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter, and any actions regarding the cabinet would be based on the findings of this investigation. He stressed that the President would not make any decisions until he has a clear understanding of the investigation’s results and whether other government officials need to be involved based on the findings.

Ngelale’s statement suggests that the President is cautious and methodical in his approach, prioritizing a comprehensive understanding of the situation before taking any actions that could affect the cabinet.
