Political Thugs Disrupt OSOPADEC Award Ceremony in Violent Attack
A tumultuous scene unfolded at the premises of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) on Wednesday when suspected political thugs barged in and launched a brazen attack on Commissioner Kehinde Akinrotoye.
The assailants, colloquially known as ‘Bonsue Aketi,’ disrupted the scheduled bursary and scholarship award ceremony of the commission.
The orchestrated assault caused widespread chaos, prompting a frantic scramble for safety among both staff and students attending the award ceremony.
The disturbance escalated with the firing of gunshots by the marauding thugs, who arrived in hired vehicles. Their indiscriminate shooting into the premises thwarted the timely progression of the event.
The targeted Commissioner, ‘Bonsue Aketi,’ fell victim to the physical aggression meted out by the hoodlums.
The assailants, in a display of violence, damaged not only the vehicle that transported the Commissioner to the event but also another vehicle on the premises.
The gravity of the situation necessitated the intervention of the Ondo State Police Command, whose officers worked to restore order amidst the tumult.
Curiously, the motive behind the audacious attack remains shrouded in mystery, as neither OSOPADEC nor the State Police Command has issued any official statements in response to the incident at the time of this report.
