The Lamidi Apapa-led faction of the Labour Party (LP) has criticised its former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, for filing what they deem a “meaningless petition” against President Bola Tinubu at the Supreme Court.

According to Apapa, Obi’s petition challenging Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 election was dismissed in less than 120 seconds due to its lack of substance.

In a statement by spokesperson Abayomi Arabambi, the group congratulated President Tinubu on his victory at the Supreme Court and expressed their disappointment in Peter Obi and his legal team for presenting what they consider “the worst election petition ever in Nigeria’s history.”

Apapa praised President Tinubu’s victory, acknowledging it as a testament to hard work, dedication, and love for the nation.

The group also extended their congratulations to Atiku, recognising his efforts in the election and noting that he remains a veteran in Nigerian politics.

It appears that the Lamidi Apapa-led faction of the Labour Party is pleased with the Supreme Court’s decision and sees Peter Obi’s petition as frivolous and lacking substance.

They attribute President Tinubu’s victory to his dedication and love for the country.
