The leaders of the Labour Party (LP) have strongly criticised the Publicity Secretary of the Lamidi Apapa-led faction of the party, Abayomi Arabambi, for what they refer to as his “serial inflammatory blackmail” of the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

They denounce Arabambi’s actions as unacceptable and call for them to be condemned in the strongest terms.

In a statement signed by the National Secretary of the Labour Party Leaders Conference for National Consolidation (LPLCNC) and eight others, the leaders express their disappointment with Arabambi’s behaviour, referring to him as a “political party destroyer without civilised self-control and restraint.”

They call on the Apapa faction to intervene and stop Arabambi from making derogatory and inflammatory statements against Peter Obi.

Furthermore, they warn that they will not tolerate any party member who makes false denigrating and anti-party public statements, especially against their global leader, Peter Obi.

The statement follows the Supreme Court’s dismissal of Peter Obi’s and Atiku Abubakar’s petition, affirming President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.
