Emdee Tiamiyu Allegedly Arrested by the UK Govt for Fraud
The popular youtuber who granted the controversial interview that got many Nigerians infuriated some months ago has been allegedly apprehended by the UK government for investing the sum of £160,000 given to him to settle down after his asylum application was successful in real estate in Nigeria.
Tiamiyu is not a strange name to many Nigerians. While some know him to be a youtuber focused of immigration contents, many will describe him as a betrayal who decided to ruin opportunity he enjoyed. Tiamiyu granted an interview on the BBC in 2023 where he talked about how many Nigerians came into the country with fake documents, and under the pretence of studying. He mentioned that the whole idea of Nigerians migrating into the country in high number is not because of the quality of education the United Kingdom has to offer, it is just an opportunity to seek greener pasture. Many Nigerians believe the interview led to many new laws that country has come with to tackle immigration related issues.
The yet to be verified news about Tiamiyu is that he has been arrested today by the UK government for mismanaging part of his settlement package given to him after he was granted asylum. He’s alleged to have invested a sum of 160,000 pounds in real estate back in Nigeria after his asylum application was based on threats he has received from Nigerians in Nigeria.
