Edo Police Arrest Four Suspected Kidnappers in Kano After Ransom Collection

The Edo State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in its fight against kidnapping with the arrest of four suspects in Kano. The suspects, identified as Aminu Sadio (24), Umar Aminu (22), Adamu Abubakar (30), and Adamu Tahir (30), were apprehended after allegedly collecting ransom from their victim in Edo State.

According to the Edo Police Command spokesperson, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the suspects were accused of kidnapping individuals in Fugar, Etsako West local government area of Edo State. Following their alleged criminal activities, they were tracked down to Kano State by the Anti-kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit of the Edo Police Command.

The arrest came after the police received a report of the kidnapping of four individuals in Fugar on January 23. It was reported that the kidnappers collected ransom through Union Bank and Moniepoint. Through intelligence-based investigations, the police were able to trace the ransom money to the accounts of Aminu Sadio and Umar Aminu, leading to their arrest.

In addition to the primary suspects, Adamu Abubakar and Adamu Tahir were also apprehended as accomplices in the kidnapping case. The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping in Edo State, demonstrating the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing in combating criminal activities.
