President Tinubu Authorizes Enhanced Security Measures in FCT

President Bola Tinubu has authorized the allocation of resources and equipment to security agencies to address the escalating insecurity in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

During a security town hall meeting with traditional and community leaders in Bwari, Bwari Area Council of the FCT, Minister Nyesom Wike announced this development. He stated that the FCT Administration is committed to providing the necessary resources and equipment to enable security agencies to combat criminal activities in the territory effectively.

Mr. Wike assured that the security agencies will intensify efforts to make the FCT inhospitable for kidnappers, bandits, and other criminals. He revealed that President Tinubu had approved the provision of all necessary logistics to the security agencies to ensure they are well-equipped to carry out their duties effectively.

The minister emphasized the significance of the town hall meeting as a platform to engage with the community and address their concerns. He stressed that the safety and security of residents are paramount and a top priority for the current administration.

Expressing solidarity with the community over recent incidents of kidnapping and violence, Mr. Wike urged residents to remain vigilant and cautious of potential informants working with criminals.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting lives and properties, stating that every effort would be made to prevent such incidents from reoccurring. The minister solicited the cooperation of community members in providing crucial information to aid security operations.

Mr. Wike urged traditional and community leaders to play an active role in supporting security agencies and emphasized the importance of timely information in preventing criminal activities.

In response to recent attacks in the area, the Council Chairman of Bwari Area Council, John Gabaya, highlighted several incidents of kidnapping and violence that occurred in Tokula, Kuduru, Zuma, Dutse-Sagwari, Padan-Gwari, and Kawu villages. He called for collective efforts to address the security challenges facing the community.
