Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged citizens to intensify their prayers for the country to overcome the pervasive insecurity affecting several states. Mrs. Tinubu made this appeal through her official social media page, emphasizing the importance of prayer in navigating the challenges facing the nation.

The call for fervent prayers follows the recent release of the Al-Kadriyar family, who were kidnapped in Abuja. Mrs. Tinubu expressed gratitude to all Nigerians, particularly mothers, for their prayers, which she believes contributed to the safe return of the Al-Kadriyar sisters. Despite this positive development, she emphasized the need to continue praying for Nigeria’s security situation.

In her statement, Mrs. Tinubu commended the efforts of security agencies in securing the release of the kidnapped sisters. However, she urged them not to relent in their efforts to combat insecurity across the country. This plea comes in the wake of ongoing security challenges, with the Al-Kadriyar family’s ordeal serving as a stark reminder of the threats faced by many Nigerians.

The Al-Kadriyar sisters, who were abducted by terrorists in the Bwari area of Abuja two weeks ago, were finally freed, bringing relief to their family and the nation. Tragically, one of the sisters had been killed earlier when the kidnappers’ ransom demands were not met.

Mrs. Tinubu’s call for prayers and her acknowledgment of the role of security agencies in addressing insecurity in Nigeria highlight the gravity of the situation. As the nation grapples with these challenges, the First Lady’s message resonates with many who hope for a safer and more secure future.
