Femi Gbajabiamila Unveils State-of-the-Art Hospital Facility in Lagos, Namesake of His Legacy

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff (CoS) to President Bola Tinubu, has officially opened an 80-bed healthcare facility in Lagos state, named after him, located in the Surulere area of Lagos. This hospital includes a paediatric unit and a dialysis centre. Gbajabiamila handed over the facility to the Lagos state government on Tuesday during the inauguration.

During the event, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives highlighted the completion of the healthcare facility as one of the projects he has undertaken in Lagos to complement the state government’s efforts. Gbajabiamila stated that during his over 20 years as a lawmaker in the lower chamber, he has delivered over 250 roads and completed 15 stadiums. He also emphasized the importance of public servants prioritizing the improvement of people’s lives as their ultimate legacy.

Gbajabiamila underscored the significance of the Femi Gbajabiamila General Hospital in addressing the healthcare needs of Lagos, particularly its growing population. He expressed pride in the infrastructure developments he has contributed to, including roads, stadiums, and investments in education and healthcare, such as ICT centres in public schools.

In addition to the healthcare facility, Gbajabiamila inaugurated a conference centre at the Lagos State University (LASU) and oversaw the dualisation of Babs Animashaun street with a bridge and a community development centre.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos commended Gbajabiamila for his contributions to the state’s development, particularly in healthcare. Sanwo-Olu revealed plans for the establishment of the Lagos State Medical University in collaboration with the federal ministry of health and the NUC, aiming to stem the emigration of medical professionals and enhance healthcare facilities in the state.
