Osun State Governor Highlights Achievements, Calls for Continued Support for Community Development
Governor Ademola Adeleke has expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts of development partners in Osun State towards the growth and progress of various communities in the region. His commendation came during the 2023 Community Development Day Celebration held at the Osogbo township stadium.
During the event, Governor Adeleke emphasized the significance of community development as a means of empowerment that should be driven by local stakeholders. He highlighted the importance of community members coming together to address issues that are crucial to their well-being, leveraging local resources to overcome challenges.
Governor Adeleke reiterated his administration’s commitment to community development, noting that significant strides had been made in improving various communities within a year of assuming office. He expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved, attributing it to the concerted efforts of his administration.
In his address, Governor Adeleke called on development partners to continue supporting the government’s initiatives, emphasizing the collective responsibility of fostering development and restoring the state to its esteemed position.
The governor expressed gratitude to the World Bank and Nigeria CARES for their support, acknowledging their contributions to the state’s development efforts. He also praised the managing director of the Osun State Community and Social Development Agency, Funmi Abokede, for her role in implementing the government’s developmental agenda.
Funmi Abokede, in her remarks, lauded Governor Adeleke for fulfilling his promises to the people of Osun State and for prioritizing the welfare of the vulnerable population. She highlighted the administration’s achievements and its focus on infrastructure development to enhance the citizens’ quality of life.
Ganiyu Ola-Oluwa, the Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, commended the governor for alleviating the hardships faced by Osun citizens. He noted the administration’s impactful projects and praised the Osun CSDA for its effective community interventions.
