Following the recent assumption of office by Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the new Governor of Ondo State, at least three political aides of the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu have tendered their resignations.

Senior Special Assistant to the late Governor on Special Duties and Strategy, Adedoyin Odebowale, submitted his resignation letter to the Secretary to the State Government, announcing his immediate resignation and expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve.

Richard Olatunde, who served as Mr Akeredolu’s Chief Press Secretary, also resigned on Wednesday, following the appointment of Ebenezer Adeniyan as the new Chief Press Secretary by Governor Aiyedatiwa. In his resignation letter, Olatunde attributed his decision to the unfortunate death of Governor Akeredolu, whom he described as a leader and father figure.

Similarly, Dare Aragbaiye, the Special Adviser to the late Governor on Union Matters and Special Duties, tendered his resignation, citing the passing of Governor Akeredolu as the reason for his decision.

Meanwhile, Governor Aiyedatiwa has made new appointments to his administration, including Smart Omodunbi as Special Assistant on Political Matters, Abire Olugbenga as Special Assistant on New Media, Motunrayo Oyedele as Special Assistant on Photography, and Temitayo Iperepolu as Special Assistant on Domestic and Government House.

The appointments are effective immediately, as the new administration settles into office.
