French Minister Pledges Support to EFCC in the Fight Against Financial Crimes

French Minister of the Interior and Overseas, Laurent Baile, has declared solidarity with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in its relentless pursuit of economic and financial crimes and other corrupt practices.

During a courtesy visit to the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, Baile extended his congratulations on Olukoyede’s appointment and advocated for increased collaboration between France and the EFCC.

The focus of this partnership centres on developing strategies to combat cybercrimes and associated criminal activities. Discussions delved into the possibilities of joint investigations and the sharing of intelligence.

In a statement from EFCC Spokesperson Dele Oyewale, Olukoyede expressed gratitude for the visit and reiterated the Commission’s commitment to steering the fight against economic and financial crimes with precision.

Olukoyede emphasized the overarching objective of the Commission – to stimulate economic growth, foster development, generate employment, and eliminate obstacles hindering sustainable progress.

He pledged a commitment to professionalism and a strict adherence to the rule of law in carrying out their duties.

Applauding the longstanding support from the French government, Olukoyede urged for even closer cooperation in addressing the challenges posed by economic and financial crimes.
