Notorious Gang Leader Busted in Massive Firearms Raid
In a recent police operation, a significant cache of firearms, including barrel guns, pistols, cartridges, and even drilling machines, was seized. The crackdown led to the arrest of over 30 suspects, among whom was a notorious gang leader.

This incident follows the recent discovery of a clandestine gun-manufacturing facility in Kaduna State, where authorities confiscated 26 weapons, including AK-47 rifles and submachine guns.
Law enforcement agencies have also revealed attempts by armed groups to smuggle weapons into the southeastern state of Anambra from neighbouring Cameroon.
During Tuesday’s operation, the police identified two blacksmiths believed to be responsible for producing the illicit arms at the factory in Lagos.
They were apprehended alongside 30 other suspects and are expected to face various charges, including illegal possession of firearms.
Authorities suspect that these weapons were being supplied to criminal elements across the country.
The raid was conducted following a month-long investigation and intelligence on the involvement of a blacksmith.
One prominent figure linked to a criminal gang or cult was found in possession of 9mm ammunition rounds and is implicated in the murder of a rival cult member in Lagos.
These individuals, along with the other suspects, will be brought to court to face the charges against them.
Although specific details about this particular cult are limited, it’s worth noting that Nigeria has a proliferation of such groups, despite their ban.
These cults, often operating like secret societies, have structured hierarchies, employ code words, and feature insignia bearing their preferred weapon and colour.
It’s a stark reminder of the complex security landscape that authorities in Nigeria are working diligently to address.
