In an interview with Comrade Temitope Fagunwa, a right activist and pan-Africanist, while speaking with Solomon Olukoya, GOVERNMEND correspondent, on the State of the Nation, Insecurity and Sunday Igboho’s Eviction Order.

Comrade Fagunwa stated that the system of government from selfish and exploitative colony is the basis of Nigeria’s problems.
And remedying this will amongst other things amount to total overhaul of the system, inherited from our colonial masters. And that Nigeria will keep going in a rigmarole so long as she practises and still operates the inherited system from the colonial rulers. He mentioned Tanzania as a replica of what Nigeria should do; changing her inherited system of government.

He further mentioned that the exploitative mindset on the part of the elected has further worsen the predicaments posed at the country, leaving the country in perpetual poverty.

The present administration has failed in her primary quest to tackle poverty and is as such incapable of solving the issues in the country and there are chances that the new service chiefs might as well fail to inject a lasting antidote to all of the present day social ills.

On the issue of insecurity, kidnapping and banditry which of course are the offsprings of the social ills and the rate of poverty is consistently watering all of and more of these vices.

Whether or not Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemo (Sunday Igboho) or Sowere’s approach to addressing these menaces is inimical to forfeiture of the rights as citizens of the country and their general wellbeing. He also stressed the fact that any ill(unreasonable) government will do same and more to repress criticism and call to accountability, which most often functions as the first stage of revolution.
And the glaring fact that the likes of Sowore in their demand for an unbiased and non tribal sermon for good and accountable governance, further keeps the government on their feet known to them that Mr. Sowore and other apostles of good governance, are aware and saddened by the system of operation in the country. The clamour for it change is all they ask and are after.

He however stressed the illegality of Sunday Igboho’s eviction order. In his words: “it’s bad to stereotype. You can’t send some Nigerians away from a part of the country because some of their tribesmen are allegedly criminals.” He believes the fight is not masses over masses, the fight is between the ruling class and the ruled, for the manifestation of a system that affords the good of a democracy.

The North East of the Hausas and Fulanis is faced with insecurity more than any part of the country. What that simply explains is that crime knows no tribe, we need to take the fight to the government (and not to ourselves) to ensure the safety of lives and properties and not further deepen the ethno-religious tension. Temitope Fagunwa insists Nigerians have the general responsibility to hold the government accountable, adding that the only cure for Buhari’s incompetence is for Nigerians to keep demonstrating that the power of the people is more than the people in power.
