Last night, amidst the solemn occasion of Ramadan Iftar at the State House, President Bola Tinubu conveyed a message of hope and resilience to the members of the Nigerian Senate and, by extension, to the entire nation. He addressed the pressing security and economic challenges Nigeria is currently grappling with, asserting that these difficulties will soon come to an end.

President Tinubu acknowledged the efforts of the armed forces in maintaining the country’s sovereignty and committed to supporting them against any efforts to undermine their integrity. “We are facing challenges, indeed. The security situation is testing us, and while our armed forces are making commendable sacrifices, we remain resolute in not letting these challenges diminish their value,” he remarked.

He expressed optimism about overcoming the national and economic challenges, noting an improvement in revenue which is evident in the financial health of subnational entities. The President’s vision for Nigeria includes better management and a brighter future. “We are on the verge of turning a corner. With improved revenue and better management, there’s light at the end of the tunnel, and I’m confident that Nigeria will find reasons to smile again,” Tinubu said, hinting at better days where prosperity would be shared among all citizens.

Emphasising the importance of resilience in facing security challenges, the President assured Nigerians that these obstacles would not defeat the nation. “The security challenges we face will not overcome us. We are dedicated to rescuing our country and bringing prosperity to all corners of our nation,” he added.

President Tinubu also took the opportunity to thank the Senate for their diligent work, especially in passing the Students Loan Bill into law, which is a testament to the government’s commitment to education and youth empowerment. “The swift handling of the budget and the passage of critical legislation such as the Students Loan Bill into law demonstrate our collective commitment to Nigeria’s future,” he stated, appreciating the collaborative efforts between the executive and legislative branches of government.
