Former Minister Challenges Tinubu to Deliver ‘Lagos Miracles’ on National Scale

Solomon Dalung, the former Minister of Youths and Sports Development during President Muhammadu Buhari’s first term, has called on President Bola Tinubu to replicate his acclaimed “Lagos miracles” on a national scale. Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007, had highlighted his achievements in Lagos as a model for good governance and infrastructure development, pledging to replicate this success if elected as president.

However, Dalung criticized the current administration’s policies, stating that they have not effectively addressed the needs of Nigerians and have, in some cases, worsened the country’s hardships. He highlighted the economic challenges facing Nigeria, pointing out that blaming President Buhari for these issues does not provide solutions or alleviate the suffering of the people.

While acknowledging that President Buhari’s administration has failed to deliver on its promises of change, Dalung placed responsibility for Nigeria’s economic woes on Tinubu’s government, citing what he called reckless policies. He criticized attempts by Tinubu’s allies to shift blame to Buhari, describing it as hypocritical and unproductive.

Dalung urged Tinubu to focus on tackling Nigeria’s security and economic challenges with the same vigor and resources used during elections and tribunals. He emphasized the urgent need for solutions to address hunger and the high cost of living, warning that these issues could lead to disaster if not addressed promptly.

Dalung called on Tinubu to deliver on his promises and perform what he termed as his “Lagos miracles” on a national scale, emphasizing the need for practical action over blame games and political rhetoric.
