The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced the sale of Nomination and Expression of Interest forms for party members interested in contesting for the governorship seat in Edo State. The off-cycle governorship election is scheduled to take place on November 16, coinciding with a similar exercise in Ondo State.

The first aspirant from Edo State to obtain the forms at the APC national secretariat in Abuja was Clem Agba, a former Minister of State for Budget and National Planning. Henry Idahagbon, a former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Edo, picked up the forms on behalf of Agba.

According to the APC’s timetable for the Edo governorship election, the sale of Nomination and Expression of Interest and Delegates Forms will conclude on January 29. The party will conduct its primary election to select its flag bearer for the governorship race on February 17.

The cost of the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms is set at N10 million and N40 million, respectively. However, aspirants living with disabilities and female aspirants are only required to pay for the Expression of Interest Form, while the Nomination Form is provided to them free of charge. Additionally, youths between 25 and 40 years of age are eligible for a 50 per cent discount on both forms.
