President Tinubu Urges Security Chiefs to Ensure Decisive Victory Against Security Threats

President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigeria’s security chiefs to ensure a decisive victory against the numerous security challenges facing the country. Speaking at a presidential security briefing in Abuja, President Tinubu emphasized the need for tangible progress in addressing security threats across the nation.

While acknowledging the progress made in eliminating some security threats, President Tinubu stressed the importance of achieving a conclusive resolution to the multidimensional security challenges. He highlighted the significance of investments in infrastructure, social security, MSME empowerment, and other growth drivers, emphasizing the government’s commitment to achieving a $1 trillion economy in the coming years.

President Tinubu also emphasized the need to avoid errors like those witnessed recently in Kaduna, stating that coordination between security agencies has improved but must continue to do so until the security challenges are fully addressed.

In line with his objectives for the nation’s oil production, President Tinubu urged the armed forces to work towards achieving a sustainable production of two million barrels of crude oil per day, including condensates, by the first quarter of 2024. He emphasized the importance of robust intelligence and warned against any malign actors hindering national progress.

During the event, President Tinubu commended the dedication and commitment of certain officers in their duties, leading to their promotion. He recognized the Commander of the Presidential Air fleet (PAF), the Commander of the Brigade of Guards (BoG), and his Chief Personal Security Officer (CPSO) for their exemplary service.

The president decorated the newly promoted officers, expressing his appreciation for their loyalty and dedication to duty. The event was attended by top security officials, including the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle.

In response, the newly promoted officers expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for their promotions and affirmed their continued loyalty and commitment to serving the nation.
