The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) has urged the media to play a pivotal role in portraying Nigeria in a positive light to attract more investments to the country. Aisha Rimi, the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NIPC, made this appeal during a media “Meet and Greet” event organized by the Commission in Abuja on Friday.

Rimi emphasized the importance of all Nigerians, including the media, in contributing to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and fostering the country’s growth and development. She stressed that everyone has a role to play in making Nigeria succeed and highlighted the media’s significant influence in shaping the country’s image.

Acknowledging that there might be occasions where mistakes are made, Rimi urged individuals to act as ambassadors for Nigeria, emphasizing the need to focus on highlighting the country’s positive stories. She emphasized the role of the media in supporting each other and portraying Nigeria in a positive light to attract investors and bolster the economy.

Rimi reiterated NIPC’s mandate to facilitate and promote access to investors in Nigeria while retaining existing ones. She emphasized the commission’s commitment to bridging the gap between the private sector and government, ensuring a conducive environment for both domestic and foreign investors.

Expressing gratitude for past support from the media, Rimi pledged to continue depending on the media for promoting the commission’s activities. She emphasized the commission’s open-door policy, welcoming constructive criticism and collaboration with the media for mutual benefit.

In his remarks, Mr. Ifeanyi Onuba, President of the Commerce and Industry Correspondent Association of Nigeria (CICAN), pledged the association’s commitment to showcasing NIPC positively. He also urged the commission to involve the association in its activities to ensure accurate and beneficial information dissemination.
