Tinubu Stresses Commitment to Poverty Alleviation and Education in Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has emphasized the need for progressive and inclusive democracy in Nigeria, focusing on addressing poverty through job creation for youths and ensuring quality education for all children in the country. Speaking during a meeting with the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, Tinubu expressed his support for the establishment of the National Institute of Progressive Studies by the party.

Tinubu highlighted the importance of the Institute in conducting thorough research and educating party members on the principles of democracy and good governance. He stressed the significance of democracy’s promising future in Nigeria, emphasizing his commitment to a strong, ideologically driven democracy that aims to eliminate poverty and provide quality education.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by democracy in the past, Tinubu affirmed his belief in a progressive and inclusive democratic system. He commended the party’s leadership for its efforts in promoting these ideals and called for collaboration with various government bodies to achieve these goals.

The president urged the party’s leadership to focus on recruiting more youths and women in its e-registration and digital membership validation exercise, scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2024. He pledged his unwavering support for advancing the progressive ideology of the APC, emphasizing his dedication to pursuing it vigorously.

Expressing gratitude for the support received during his campaigns and electoral victory, Tinubu acknowledged the demands of his office and the need for increased focus, dedication, and time. He emphasized the importance of addressing the issue of out-of-school children by establishing more schools, hiring teachers, and providing meals for school children.

APC national chair Abdullahi Ganduje assured the president of the party’s plans to secure victory in the upcoming by-elections into national and state legislative houses in February 2024. He affirmed the party’s commitment to winning the support of the people and securing all available seats in the electoral contest.
