Federal Government Declares Public Holidays for Christmas and New Year Celebrations

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the declaration of public holidays to commemorate the Christmas and New Year celebrations. This declaration, made by the Honorable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo on behalf of the Federal Government, designates Monday and Tuesday, December 25th and 26th, 2023, as well as Monday, January 1st, 2024, as public holidays.

In his statement, Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended felicitations to Christians and all Nigerians, both at home and abroad, on the occasion of these holidays. He emphasized the significance of emulating the virtues of Jesus Christ, such as humility, service, compassion, and patience, in the lives of Christians.
