Katsina Governor Signs ₦454 Billion Budget into Law, Pledges Prudent Implementation

Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, the Governor of Katsina State, has approved the state’s 2024 budget, amounting to ₦454,308,862,113.96, following its swift passage by the State House of Assembly. The budget signing took place at the Government House chamber in the presence of the State Chief Judge, Justice Musa Danladi Grand Khadi Dr. Kabir Abubakar, legislative members, and the State Executive Council.

Expressing his appreciation, Governor Radda thanked the State Assembly for their prompt approval, which was completed within 33 days of thorough examination. He also acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the State Deputy Governor, executive council members, and all contributors to the budget-making process.

Governor Radda assured strict compliance with budget implementation procedures, stressing the allocation of resources based on needs and priorities. He called for continued cooperation from the legislature, emphasizing the importance of close collaboration with government agencies.

Highlighting legislative accomplishments, Governor Radda noted the passage of ten executive bills within the last seven months. These bills covered critical areas such as Assets Management, Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency, and the establishment of the Irrigation Authority.

In terms of security, Governor Radda shared positive developments, stating that the state’s insecurity level has decreased by more than sixty per cent. He acknowledged ongoing efforts to address challenges in Danmusa, Kankara, and other affected areas, reaffirming the government’s commitment to resolving long-standing issues affecting the state.
