President Bola Tinubu has undertaken a significant restructuring at the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), a pivotal agency overseeing the enforcement of “70 per cent indigenous content and participation in the nation’s energy industry.”

The move involved the replacement of both the governing board and the management team, with no explicit reasons provided for the overhaul.

Presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement released on Thursday evening, announced the appointments to the NCDMB’s Governing Council and Management Team.

Felix Ogbe has been designated as the Executive Secretary, while Heineken Lokpobiri, a former senator, assumes the role of Chairman.

According to Ngelale, the appointments align with the stipulations outlined in Sections 71(1), 72, and 73 of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act (2010).

The newly constituted team includes Oritsemyiwa Eyesan, Gbenga Komolafe, Bekearedebo Augusta Warrens, Nicolas Odinuwe, Rapheal Samuel, Sadiq Abubakar, and Olorundare Sunday Thomas, each bringing diverse expertise to the NCDMB.

Ngelale’s statement underlines President Tinubu’s expectations for the appointed experts to fulfill their duties in line with the administration’s commitment to significantly boost indigenous participation in the energy sector.

This initiative is part of the broader Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to achieve a 70% indigenous content and participation in the nation’s energy industry during the administration’s tenure.
