Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, has urged the Federal Government to disclose the assets and deficits inherited by President Bola Tinubu’s administration from the past administration of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari.

Obi emphasised the importance of transparency and strict accountability in governance.

His call follows statements from National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and President Tinubu himself, regarding the financial state inherited by the new administration.

Obi urged officials of the Tinubu government to disclose the specifics of the deficit to provide clarity on the nation’s financial situation.

He noted that transparency is a key characteristic of responsible governance and criticized the previous APC government for escalating the debt profile without substantial improvements in education, health, poverty eradication, and security. ‘

Obi emphasized that Nigerians want to see measurable and verifiable steps to address and improve the current situation.
