Yoruba Nation Agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has called on Nigerians to refrain from blaming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the country’s current economic challenges. Igboho, who recently returned to Nigeria for his mother’s burial, made this statement during a visit to the palace of the monarch of Igboho town, where he addressed journalists.

He emphasized that while some people hold Tinubu responsible for the country’s problems, particularly its economic downturn, it is unfair to place all the blame on him. Igboho recalled his advocacy during President Buhari’s tenure, urging Yoruba people to unite and free themselves from what he described as ‘slavery.’ He expressed disappointment in Buhari’s leadership, stating that he had warned about the lack of benefits under Buhari’s administration.

Igboho also defended Tinubu, noting that despite spending six months in office, there was little tangible impact to justify the criticism directed at him. He highlighted that Nigeria was already in a deteriorated state when Buhari handed over power to Tinubu.

Furthermore, Igboho recounted his recent ordeal with security operatives, alleging that President Buhari had sent soldiers and the Department of State Services (DSS) to arrest him for advocating against the perceived dominance of the Fulani ethnic group in Yoruba land. He declared his resolve to continue championing the cause of the Yoruba people, asserting that they should not be subservient to the Fulani.

In conclusion, Igboho asserted that his return to Nigeria was empowered by divine authority, not by the will of man, as he vowed to continue advocating for the rights of the Yoruba people.
