In a recent development, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has taken a firm stance on outstanding ground rent payments from foreign embassies in Abuja. The minister has issued a final notice, demanding payment within two weeks from the date of the memo. Failure to comply will result in the revocation of titles.

The total amount owed by the embassies amounts to $5.36 million, according to the list published by the minister. This move is part of an effort to ensure that all allottees, property owners, and beneficiaries of the sale of Federal Government Houses in the FCT fulfill their financial obligations promptly.

The notice serves as a stern reminder to all concerned parties to settle their outstanding ground rents for the year 2023. The publication includes a list of allottees and corresponding outstanding ground rents for ease of reference.

This initiative underscores the FCT administration’s commitment to ensuring compliance with financial obligations and maintaining the integrity of land ownership in Abuja.
