APC Chieftain Lukman Criticizes Tinubu, Alleges Marginalization of North-Central

Salihu Lukman, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has voiced concerns about the alleged marginalization of the north-central region under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu. Lukman, who previously served as the National Vice Chairman of the APC (North-West), criticized the appointment of Abdullahi Ganduje as the party’s chairman by President Tinubu, stating that it contravened the party’s constitution.

According to Lukman, the APC’s constitution stipulates that the state which produced the outgoing member of the National Working Committee should have the privilege of nominating their replacement. He argued that based on this provision, Nasarawa State should have been given the opportunity to nominate a replacement following the removal of Abdullahi Adamu as the national chairman. Lukman expressed disappointment that Tanko Almakura, a founding member of the party from Nasarawa State, was not considered for the position, possibly due to Abdullahi Adamu’s relationship with Tinubu.

Lukman emphasized his respect for Tinubu but expressed concern over what he perceives as the marginalization of the entire North-Central region in the country’s politics under Tinubu’s leadership. He stressed the importance of constructive criticism and accountability, stating that he hopes Tinubu will address these issues to ensure a successful presidency and a positive legacy.

In a recent interview, Lukman also alleged that some top members of the APC have been denied access to meet with the president, raising further questions about the dynamics within the party under Tinubu’s leadership.
