EFCC Issues Warning to Skit Makers Over Unauthorized Use of EFCC’s Operational Identities

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued another warning to skit makers, urging them to refrain from using the operational identities of the Commission illegally and irresponsibly.

This comes in response to a video titled “EFCC and Army Wahala” gaining traction on social media, which the anti-graft agency considers a deliberate attempt to tarnish its image.

The skit portrays supposed EFCC operatives unleashing terror on suspects in an embarrassing and inaccurate manner.

The EFCC emphasized that its operatives are not bullies but are trained as refined, modern law enforcement officers who uphold decency, civility, and respect for the public, including suspects of economic and financial crimes.

The Commission warned skit makers to cease the unauthorized use of its identities, stating that legal actions would be taken against those caught displaying its operational identities for any engagement.

The EFCC reiterated its commitment to maintaining a positive public image and emphasized the professionalism of its officers.

Skit makers were urged to act responsibly and avoid contributing to misleading portrayals that could harm the reputation of the EFCC.
