The Bauchi Emirate Council has taken decisive action by relieving six recently-turbaned traditional title holders in the Galambi District Area of their appointments.
This significant move was disclosed in an official press release by the Chief Information Officer of the Bauchi Emirate Council, Malam Babangida Hassan Jahun.
The council’s decision, made during a convened meeting, was motivated by the observation that the process of appointing and turbaning the traditional title holders by the District Head of Galambi deviated from established guidelines governing such appointments within the emirate.
The six individuals who were affected by this decision held titles such as Galadiman Danlawal, Majidadin Danlawal, Wakilin Dokan Danlawal, Wakilin Gonan Danlawal, Sarkin Dajin Danlawal, and Hardon Danlawal.
Additionally, the Bauchi Emirate Council imposed a one-year ban on the District Head of Galambi, Alh. Shehu Adamu Jumba, who is also the Danlawal of Bauchi Emirate, which prevented him from making further appointments of this nature.
The directive emphasised the necessity for future turbaning processes to strictly adhere to established guidelines and regulations within the emirate.
This action underscores the commitment of the Bauchi Emirate Council to uphold traditional norms and procedural integrity in the appointment of traditional title holders, ensuring conformity with established practises and principles.
