A fantastic opportunity for young entrepreneurs in Nigeria is on the horizon as the MTN Foundation concludes its sixth phase of ICT and Business Skills training. A total of 300 budding entrepreneurs are set to receive N90 million in equipment grants.
The names of the fortunate recipients were revealed during a virtual closing ceremony graced by notable figures like the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, and other dignitaries from various government and technology sectors.
During the ceremony, Governor Obaseki encouraged the participants to further hone their skills and emphasised the importance of giving back.
He lauded MTN’s support during the pandemic when they provided essential bandwidth for the EdoBest platform, allowing kids to continue learning during lockdown.
The Director of MTN Foundation, Dennis Okoro, reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to digital inclusion and extended his congratulations to the young entrepreneurs.
The ICT and Business Skills training programme was tailored to equip Nigerian entrepreneurs aged 18 to 35 with the digital skills necessary to grow their businesses.
This year, the programme targeted a good number of entrepreneurs across several states, thanks to partnerships with Meta and Microsoft. It’s a step towards empowering the next generation of Nigerian business leaders.
